Binance Capital Acquires Japanese Compliant Exchange Sakura Exchange BitCoin, Entering the Japanese Market

Binance, the world’s leading blockchain ecosystem and encrypted asset infrastructure provider, announced the acquisition of 100% equity in Sakura Exchange BitCoin (SEBC), a Japanese encrypted asset trading platform service provider, officially entering the Japanese market and accepting the Japanese Financial Services Agency (JFSA) Supervision.

The parties did not disclose the terms of the deal.

Binance will provide compliance services in Japan through SEBC, aiming to establish a responsible environment for the development of encrypted assets globally.

Previously, Binance has obtained compliant operating licenses or authorizations in countries and regions such as France, Italy, Spain, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, New Zealand, Kazakhstan, Poland, Lithuania, and Cyprus.

The acquisition of SEBC marks Binance’s first license to operate in East Asia.

As an encrypted asset trading platform, SEBC has completed registration with the Japan Financial Services Agency to provide users with consulting services and brokerage services.

Headquartered in Tokyo, SEBC currently supports 11 trading pairs: BTC/JPY, ETH/JPY, BCH/JPY, XRP/JPY, LTC/JPY, ETC/JPY, XEM/JPY, MONA/JPY, ADA/JPY, XYM/ JPY and COT/JPY.
